Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and optimize production systems supporting high-speed automated assembly assets
- Develop line balance strategies to maximize throughput, efficiency, and resource utilization
- Monitor and improve key metrics such as cycle time, OEE, and labor productivity
- Support and optimize automated material handling systems including robotics, AMRs, AGVs, and conveyor systems
- Improve movement, storage, and retrieval of totes and pallets to reduce bottlenecks and increase system efficiency
- Evaluate plant layouts and material flow to ensure optimal production performance
- Develop and implement efficient work cell layouts for both automated and manual assembly operations
- Define standardized work, ergonomic improvements, and operator efficiency strategies
- Balance labor across manual and semi-automated processes
- Utilize FlexSim software to model production systems, validate capacity, and simulate process improvements
- Perform scenario analysis to support capital investments and layout changes
- Provide data-driven recommendations based on simulation outputs
- Vision Systems & Quality Integration Support implementation and improvement of high-speed vision systems for quality inspection applications
- Analyze defect data and collaborate with quality and engineering teams to improve process capability
- Lead and support initiatives using: Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act), RCA (Root Cause Analysis)
- Identify waste and inefficiencies and implement sustainable improvements
- Drive standardization and best practices across operations
- Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Manufacturing, and Quality teams
- Support new product introductions, line transfers, and capacity expansions
- Collaborate with leadership to develop strategic improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
- 5 years minimum experience and understanding of manufacturing systems, process optimization, and labor analysis
- Experience with data analysis and process improvement techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting high-speed automation environments (300+ parts per minute)
- Medical device manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- Experience with: Automated material handling systems (AMR, AGV, robotics), High-speed vision systems and inspection processes, Proficiency in FlexSim or similar simulation software
- Strong background in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
