Industrial Sewing Associate - 2nd Shift

About the Role

As an Industrial Sewing Associate, you will safely operate industrial sewing machines to sew all products in accordance with company performance and quality standards. You will read and follow work order specifications via Electronic Distribution of Orders (EDO) and order hard copies or white tickets to build and assemble quality parts accurately and timely.

Responsibilities

• Sew material according to product specifications.
• Operate all industrial sewing machines, including single needle, and make minor machine adjustments.
• Meet QC standards in sewing operations and perform routine machine maintenance.
• Flip completed covers and maintain a daily log of completed work.
• Maintain weekly sewing production percentage above 90%.
• Log cutting errors, such as too long, notches not cut, etc.
• Monitor and stock work area with Velcro, buckles, zippers, zipper pulls, and common loop.
• Follow and comply with all safety, work rules, regulations, ISO procedures, lean initiatives, and lean events.
• Maintain departmental housekeeping standards and the 5’S Program.
• Assist in other departments as needed to ensure products are completed on time.
• Maintain Kanban System and participate in cycle counts.
• Meet or exceed all performance measurements: quality, accuracy, timeliness, and thoroughness of work.
• Maintain a good attendance record and contribute to team efforts.
• Highlight cross-functional collaboration, ownership, continuous improvement, and efficiency.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
• Prior industrial sewing experience preferred.
• Experience working with Juki sewing machines preferred.
• Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to read, write, and understand instruction detail written and communicated in English.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before employees of the organization.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to navigate the internet to access company portals preferred.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Strong problem-solving mindset.

Pay

The expected pay range for this role is $16.00 – $18.00 per hour, plus a $0.50/hour shift differential.

Schedule

Full-time, 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM.
