Job Description

  • Assist with layout, fabrication, assembly, installation, maintenance, and repairs of piping, piping systems, and industrial processing.
  • Load and unload construction materials from trucks and into buildings.
  • Furnish experienced craft workers with materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Absorb materials and devices during installation.
  • Perform minor maintenance or cleaning of tools and equipment.
  • Work safely, encourage others to do so, and comply with applicable health and safety-related rules, regulations, and procedures.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of (Commercial/Industrial) plumbing or pipefitting experience, is a plus but not a necessity.
  • Knowledge of piping systems, strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic construction/shop math (addition, subtraction, division, fraction, and multiplication).
  • Ability to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
  • Ability to work easily and skillfully with hands.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and willing to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and deal diplomatically with co-workers and other tradesmen.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Pipefitter Helper, you will assist with laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems, fixtures, and equipment for ammonia, steam, hot water, heating, cooling, and industrial processing systems. You will also load and unload construction materials from trucks and into buildings, furnish experienced craft workers with materials, tools, equipment, and supplies, absorb materials and devices during installation, perform minor maintenance or cleaning of tools and equipment, and work safely, encouraging others to do so, and complying with applicable health and safety-related rules, regulations, and procedures.

Travel Requirements

Pipeline system installation and maintenance work requires traveling, primarily throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee, majority of the year.
