Responsibilities
- Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and material specs.
- Select the most suitable fitting and material based on system operation knowledge.
- Prepare, cut, fabricate, layout, fit, position, and assemble piping components together in various positions.
- Bolt, clamp, and tack parts to secure in position for welding.
- Install hangers, supports, valves and components according to piping system plans and specifications.
- Inspect systems/structures to ensure no obstructions or leaks are present, repair or modify the design if necessary.
- Operate forklifts & telehandler.
- Hoist loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and other rigging equipment.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Skills/Abilities
- Demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance experience.
- Ability to read prints and construction drawings.
- Must understand how to read and interpret technical manuals to determine work procedures such as ISO’s and blueprints.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and manufacturers manuals and instructions.
- Must have 3+ years’ experience working as pipe fitter/maintenance.
- Ability to take detailed instructions.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a team player.
- Good problem-solving abilities, communication skills, aptitude, and manual dexterity.
- Able to work with minimum supervision.
- Must be able to read & understand welding symbols, welding procedures, mechanical and structural drawings.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be able to work long, flexible hours including weekends.
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job: lift 50 pounds, standing for long periods of time.
- Willingness to travel to different locations and work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Have a valid driver license (Preferred).
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certified (Preferred).
