About the role
This position is open to current Colorado residents only. It is a full-time, in-person, and essential role. The position requires working at assigned work locations during scheduled work times, with work arrangements subject to change.
Responsibilities
- Paint walls, equipment, buildings, casework, and other structural surfaces, using brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
- Prepare surfaces, remove old paint, mix colors, cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape, fill cracks, holes, or joints, and apply primers or sealers.
- Calculate material amounts and estimate costs based on surface measurements.
- Read work orders or receive instructions from supervisors to determine work requirements.
- Perform general drywall duties, including hanging, taping, texturing, and plaster patching.
- Inspect facilities for necessary repairs, such as responding to calls and performing minor repairs.
- Maintain and repair walls, ceilings, floors, and accentuated systems, replacing flooring materials and covering, repairing cabinet and counter tops, securing windows, adjusting door hinges, and replacing light bulbs.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, including greasing bearings, changing filters, and replacing light fixtures.
- Snake plugged sanitary lines and repair residential, institutional, and penal fixtures.
- Perform routine and scheduled snow removal and apply ice melt as needed.
- Handle hazardous materials and work with moving, mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical shock, and high exposure places.
- Respond to after-hours calls via call back to perform essential and/or emergency services without delay and/or interruption.
Requirements
Four years of full-time professional commercial and/or residential painting experience, or a combination of related education, formalized apprenticeship program, and/or commercial and/or residential painting experience equal to four (4) years. Proof of related education and/or apprenticeship program must be attached to the job application.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industrial painting experience.
- Experience operating scissor lifts and boom lifts.
- Experience with road markings and/or striping.
- Experience working with and maintaining airless paint sprayers.
Conditions of Employment
- Must be a resident of Colorado at the time of application and throughout employment.
- A full pre-employment criminal background check is required.
- Must be willing to submit and pass a full background check.
- Must possess and maintain a valid non-restricted Colorado driver's license.
- Must successfully pass a motor vehicle check.
- Must travel to other districts and respond to after-hours calls via call back.
- Must be available to work various hours for coverage, weather-related issues, and essential/emergency services outside of normal business hours.

- Must successfully pass a Tuberculosis (TB) test.
