Industrial Painter III

Essential Duties / Skills / Responsibilities

• Mix Epoxy and Macropoxy
• Perform Reasonable Expectations (RE)-Permitted 10% over as indicted per chart
• Visual inspect ladders, harnesses, paint lines, spray guns
• Clean and visual inspect paint lines, spray guns
• Perform internal and external inspections (Voids, Bottoms, Stencil, Safety Stripe, Deck Fittings)
• Operate Allegro fans, air horns, mixer, paint pump, wet film thickness gauge
• Absorb tasks with zero defects
• Assist person spraying outside of barge
• Perform brush, roll, and mitting tasks

Skill Factors

• Follow simple written and verbal directions
• Lift up to 50 pounds
• Wear full face respirator
• Distinguish between hazardous and non-hazardous waste
• Use proper personal protective equipment (metatarsal boots, ear plugs/ear muffs, safety glasses, long sleeved shirts and pants, hard hats, respirator)
• Know confined space entry rules and regulations
• Test for oxygen levels and LEL benchmarks before entering confined space
• Use proper ventilation techniques
• Understand explosion proof requirements

Work Conditions

• Heavy industrial worksite
• Outdoor elements (heat, cold)
• Exposure to air particles (dust, chemicals)
• Loud, penetrating noises in some work areas
• Required personal protective equipment (metatarsal boots, ear plugs/ear muffs, safety glasses, long sleeved shirts and pants, hard hats, respirator)

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• Previous work experience in a heavy industrial or construction environment preferred
