Responsibilities
- Prepare and mix paint in accordance with established procedures and specifications
- Handle painted/prepared parts using a forklift or overhead crane
- Organize the work area
- Clean, sand, and occasionally strip and degrease parts to properly prepare surfaces for painting
- Verify environmental conditions (temperature, relative humidity, etc.)
- Paint parts and perform touch-ups as required
- Inspect parts (paint thickness, finish quality, etc.)
- Complete quality control and production documentation
- Monitor the inventory of equipment required for painting operations
- Clean accessories and equipment using solvents
- Wear personal protective equipment and comply with health and safety guidelines
- Perform any other related tasks to support the team in completing departmental projects
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Vocational diploma (DEP) in building painting, auto body repair, surface treatment, or industrial painting certificate (AEP) (asset)
- Risk assessment training (asset)
- Respirator certification (asset)
- WHMIS certification (asset)
- Overhead crane and forklift certification (asset)
- Relevant industrial painting experience (2–3 years)
- Ability to work under pressure
- Good vision
- Good color perception
- Ability to work in hot and humid conditions
