Industrial Mechanical Technician 2026 Internship
Job Description
The Skilled Trades Internship Program is a 12-week, paid program designed to provide a unique learning experience for highly motivated students who are interested in pursuing a Plumbing Steamfitter career upon graduation. The program pays $28.01/hour for a 40-hour work week. A $600/month housing stipend is also available to students whose residence is more than 50 miles away from the site.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must have a high school diploma, GED, or GED equivalent
- Must have completed at least one year of one of the degree programs (or similar) listed above
- Must pass background check and drug screen
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, for example safety glasses, gloves, and safety shoes
- Must be able to work in a tobacco-free environment
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America
Qualifications
- Must have completed at least one full year of course studies (30+ credits relevant to their degree)
- Must have one of the following degrees or similar:
- Mechanical Engineering Technology
- Mechatronics
- CNC Machining Technology
- Automotive Technical Services
Skills
Skills developed include hydraulic systems, machine schematics, industrial machinery, steam, water and air systems.
