Dematic is hiring an Industrial Mechanic in Salt Lake City to assemble, test, ship, and install warehouse automation systems. This hands-on role involves working with high-end automation equipment from the shop floor to customer site startup.

Responsibilities
- Put together mechanical subassemblies and finish machine builds based on drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and assembly instructions.
- Install bearings, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, structural components, and other automation equipment.
- Perform equipment setup and support functional testing to verify performance and quality.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues during assembly, testing, and installation.
- Inspect completed assemblies to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
- Prepare equipment for shipment, including packaging, loading, and securing materials.
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material-handling equipment safely.
- Travel to customer sites to support equipment installation, startup, and commissioning activities.
- Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to complete projects on schedule.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent experience strongly preferred; technical training or trade school education with equivalent experience is a plus.
- Experience assembling industrial machinery, conveyors, automation equipment, heavy equipment, or similar mechanical systems.
- Strong mechanical competence and confidence using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
- Ability to read and analyze blueprints, mechanical drawings, and work instructions.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work throughout the day.
- Ability to work at heights, including ladders, platforms, and elevated work areas up to 120 feet.
- Strong attention to detail, dedication to quality, and focus on workplace safety.
- Willingness to travel 25–30% to support customer installations and service projects.
Pay
The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $22.50 - $32.00 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
