Industrial Mechanic
Summary Of Responsibilities
Provide maintenance support for production operations, ensuring equipment and facilities are maintained for safe and efficient operation.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair routine and non-routine equipment failures.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine appropriate work procedures.
Perform mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs on production equipment and plant support systems.
Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
Maintain compliance with all safety, environmental, quality, and company policies and procedures.
Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to support operational goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must take and pass the Mechanical Qualification test
- Previous industrial mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing, steel, automotive, or heavy industrial environment
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills related to industrial equipment
- Working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
- Ability to safely perform maintenance activities while wearing required personal protective equipment
- Ability to work in an industrial environment that may include heights, heat, dust, noise, and varying weather conditions
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, afternoons, midnights, weekends, and holidays as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a heavy industrial, steel, or automotive manufacturing environment
- Understanding of equipment reliability, wear analysis, and root cause failure analysis
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Experience working with automated production equipment and industrial controls
- Previous foreman or leadership or experience directing work
Pay & Benefits
The starting pay range for this role is $35.36/hour with a quarterly incentive plan. This position is represented by the United Steelworkers Union.
