About the role
The Industrial / Manufacturing Engineer supports the transition of new product designs into production by ensuring manufacturing processes are efficient, scalable, cost-effective, and aligned with operational objectives. This role partners closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Production teams to optimize workflows, improve manufacturing systems, and support successful product launches.
Responsibilities
- Analyze existing manufacturing workflows, work cells, and warehouse layouts to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, throughput, and cost reduction.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints methodologies to improve operational performance and eliminate waste.
- Develop and implement process improvements to optimize labor utilization, material flow, production efficiency, and inventory management.
- Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, capacity planning, and process mapping activities.
- Support manufacturing scalability and operational readiness for new product introductions.
- Support the transition of new product designs into production through collaboration with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
- Absorb and assist with product and project development activities utilizing stage-gate or structured project management methodologies.
- Organize and track engineering projects and development activities using systems such as Monday.com, Jira, or similar project management platforms.
- Collaborate with design engineering teams to ensure manufacturability, efficiency, and cost optimization of products.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
- Create and improve training programs, including base-level and advanced manufacturing training materials.
- Train employees on updated procedures, processes, safety requirements, and operational standards.
- Ensure process documentation remains accurate, controlled, and aligned with operational practices.
- Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks to develop manufacturing layouts, workflow designs, material handling concepts, and product-related designs.
- Support facility layout planning, workstation optimization, and equipment integration activities.
- Assist in developing tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing support concepts as needed.
- Support refinement and continuous improvement of QA/QC processes and protocols.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams to improve cross-functional efficiency and communication.
- Assist with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and implementation of preventive measures.
- Communicate project updates, risks, and improvement opportunities to leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field required.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience supporting manufacturing process optimization, product launches, and workflow improvements.
- Proficiency with CAD software including AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience operating basic manufacturing tools and equipment preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and project management software such as Monday.com or Jira preferred.
