About the role

Cornwall Building Brands is a leading manufacturer of exterior building products. This position supports manufacturing operations and performs a variety of maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting manufacturing operations
  • Adjusting and repairing equipment as needed
  • Tracking usage of and ordering replacement parts
  • Diagnosing and repairing complex electro-mechanical problems with manufacturing equipment
  • Performing detailed setup on equipment including recipe changes and control adjustments
  • Repairing and keeping mechanical machine components in top operating condition
  • Advanced understanding of electrical principles such as voltage, current, and resistance
  • Diagnosing and repairing electrical control circuits, field devices, sensors, photo eyes, etc.
  • Advanced understanding of electrical safety and motor control circuits and programmable drives
  • Troubleshooting the inputs and outputs on PLC and repair issues
  • Completing projects to add electrical circuits and controls, new equipment, and relocate machines
  • Maintaining and repairing pneumatic systems including repairs of cylinders and other components
  • Performing preventative maintenance tasks following instructions
  • Entering all work completed in computer-based maintenance program
  • Monitoring and reporting spare parts usage including completing parts order forms
  • Adjusting equipment based on Statistical Process Control data and team with QATraining Level I and II technicians in more complex tasks and skills
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in related field, or equivalent related experience
  • 3-7 years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of and experience with Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedures
  • Able to strictly adhere to safety policies/procedures and be committed to customer quality
  • Able to be available for regular standby assignments; work scheduled off-hours and emergency overtime as required
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Able to assist in Training Level I and II Technicians
  • Intermediate knowledge of fabrication (ex. welding, basic machining)
  • Possess strong work ethic and knowledge of intermediate troubleshooting
  • Able to read printed materials, blueprints, schematics, and computer graphics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work independently and within a team, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships employees, vendors, contractors, and suppliers
  • Able to show attention to detail in a very fast paced environment

Physical Demands

  • Mainly a manufacturing facility, where exposed to moving mechanical parts, forklifts, heavy pallets, moderate to loud noise level, and air-borne dust, powders, and fumes
  • Must possess strength, stamina and mobility to perform heavy physical work with exposure to potentially hazardous conditions, use varied hand and power tools, drive a motor vehicle and/or light construction equipment, fork trucks, platform lifts etc;
  • Lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 90 pounds and heavier weights with the use of proper equipment;
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use fingers and hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel;
  • While working, will be required to wear various personal protective equipment (e.g., clothing, gloves, goggles, safety glasses, steel toed shoes, cut resistant aprons, etc.) based on work area or task.
