Industrial Maintenance Technician II 2nd Shift

About the role

Cornwall Building Brands is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing plant machinery and infrastructure to minimize production downtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform emergency and preventative repairs to plant machinery and infrastructure
• Inform the Maintenance Supervisor when supplies are needed and require replenishment
• Develop and review standard operating procedures for maintenance personnel
• Ensure all maintenance work areas are clean and safe
• Understand and comply with quality and environmental management system principles
• Understand and operate VOM and non-contact voltage testers
• Understand and operate basic machine shop skills and machine safety
• Participate in TPM initiatives
• Understand hydraulic and pneumatic valve configurations
• Weld, braze, solder, and cut metal
• Prepare for and perform arc welding jobs
• Inspect and assemble/disassemble scaffolding
• Understand basic blueprint components

Qualifications

• 2+ years of maintenance experience
• Associate Degree in a related field or equivalent past work experience
• Trained in LOTO, Electrical / Mechanical Safe Work Practices, Ladder Safety, CPR, Respiratory protection, Incipient stage fire response, Confined space entry, Fall protection, Enclosed spaces entry, Aerial lifts, PIT
• Basic PC skills
• Communication and time-management skills
• Customer focus
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
• Repetitive actions such as simple staring, grasping, firm grasping, and fine manipulating
• Working with various chemicals
• Working in confined space conditions
• Wearing proper PPE
• Handling hazardous waste
• Working near energized electric circuits
• Working near hot equipment and/or materials
