Industrial Maintenance Technician - Electrical/Controls

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our Winsted, CT team. This role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining advanced manufacturing equipment, including CNC machines, PLCs, servo drives, and complex electrical systems. You’ll play a key role in keeping production running safely and efficiently while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot CNC and PLC-controlled equipment using electrical schematics, manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Perform basic and advanced machine and plant wiring.
  • Use electrical test equipment to diagnose equipment issues.
  • Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC servo drives, power supplies, and feedback devices.
  • Troubleshoot and replace switches, sensors, and other electrical components.
  • Support equipment refurbishments, modifications, and upgrades.
  • Work with equipment vendors and outside service providers as needed.
  • Order parts and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  • Support 6S, housekeeping, and workplace organization standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Complete job-specific training and follow all Quality, EHS, and company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • Associate’s degree in Electronics or a related technical field (preferred).
  • Experience or training with CNC machine controls and PLCs.
  • Experience working with 480/277/220V three-phase power, transformers, and electrical wiring.
  • Electrical/electronic troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and determine the appropriate sequence of work.
  • Computer experience with maintenance-related databases or systems.
  • Background in electrical engineering or related technical disciplines.
