Key Responsibilities
- Disassemble, repair, and rebuild CNC spindles and related components
- Fabricate, assemble, and process mechanical and electrical parts to specification
- Inspect components and subassemblies for accuracy and quality
- Perform failure analysis and in-process testing
- Reassemble machine components, including spindles, drives, and assemblies
- Ensure all work meets precision tolerances and performance standards
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and assembly drawings
- Experience with precision measuring tools (micrometers, indicators, gauge blocks, etc.)
- Understanding of spindle components: shafts, housings, drawbars, pistons, springs, tool changers
- Knowledge of proper disassembly and reassembly sequences
- Hands-on experience with shop equipment: presses, hoists, grinders, drills, torches
- Able to perform minor rework using manual lathe, mill, and drill press
- Experience with balancing and testing equipment preferred
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams
- Experience using diagnostic tools (ohm meter, oscilloscopes, encoder testers, etc.)
- Safely connect and test spindle systems
- Experience with spindle drives and motor programming (preferred)
- Soldering and wiring of connectors and components
- Understanding of sensors and encoders within spindle systems
- Read and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams
- Identify and measure seals, O-rings, fittings, hoses, and valves
- Understand systems related to lubrication, tool change, cooling, and air sealing
- Experience as a CNC Maintenance Technician, Industrial Mechanic, or Machine Rebuilder
- Strong mechanical aptitude with electrical troubleshooting ability
- Experience working with precision equipment and tight tolerances
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Requirements
- Experience in automotive, aviation, oil & gas, or heavy equipment maintenance
- CNC experience can be trained for the right mechanical background
