Industrial Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain manufacturing and facility equipment.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting which includes variable frequency drives and basic troubleshooting of PLC and CNC controlled equipment.
- Responsible for the electrical installation of new, used, and relocated equipment per applicable electrical and building codes.
- Generate bills of material and purchase materials for electrical projects.
- Perform basic machining tasks using a vertical mill, metal lathe, and surface grinder.
- Perform basic fabrication tasks, including TIG, MIG, or stick welding.
- Perform facility upgrades or repairs which could involve carpentry, plumbing, roof repair, and painting.
- Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.
- Participate in and support PSM-PM and PM programs.
- Assist in snow removal and plant safety and security.
- Attend and support Smithers-Oasis continuous improvement activities.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- A high school diploma with an electrical certification from a trade school, college, or formal technical education.
- 3-5 years of industrial electrical experience.
- The ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and CAD equipment drawings.
- The ability to follow detailed instructions and perform basic math calculations.
- The ability to work independently and communicate effectively with various internal teams and external vendors.
- The ability to lift, carry, and handle objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
- The ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces.
- The ability to operate aerial platform equipment at heights.

Pay
$31.00 per hour, with higher pay depending on experience.
Schedule
Two-week rotating schedule of Monday through Friday from 4:30am to 2:30pm and 6:00am to 4:00pm. Schedules may change based on business needs, requiring availability to work a 2nd shift schedule. Call backs during off shifts may be required. Overtime hours may be required based on business needs, which would include Fridays and possibly Saturdays.
