About the role

At Barilla, we are seeking a Plant Maintenance Technician to join our team at our food manufacturing facility. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring our production lines operate at peak performance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment and plant systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, and VFD issues.
  • Complete repairs involving welding, machining, fabrication, and electrical work.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain and monitor plant utility systems, including air compressors, fire protection systems, and facility equipment.
  • Perform equipment changeovers and format/size adjustments.
  • Calibrate and adjust metal detection systems while maintaining required documentation.
  • Work closely with Production and Packaging teams to keep product flowing efficiently.
  • Clock in maintenance activities with outside contractors and vendors when needed.
  • Prioritize work orders to support production schedules.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that increase reliability, safety, and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow all food safety and quality procedures.

Requirements

  • Achieved an Associate degree in a maintenance-related field or at least three years of industrial maintenance experience (mechanical and/or electrical).
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Experience with PLCs (Allen-Bradley and Siemens) is highly preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting Variable Frequency Drives (Allen-Bradley) is a plus.
  • Welding, machining, fabrication, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with production teams.

Qualifications
