About the Role
The Maintenance Technician performs routine activities throughout the facility to maintain production equipment and prevent downtime. This includes preventive maintenance, daily equipment repairs, following up on work orders, and troubleshooting to identify equipment issues. The role also requires periodic on-call availability to cover non-routine maintenance activities during off hours.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks
- Troubleshoot industrial electric and pneumatic pumps and motors
- Repair and rebuild gear pumps and diaphragm pumps from ¾” to 3” sizes
- Change mechanical seals in pumps
- Perform shaft alignment for pumps
- Complete minor electrical work
- Maintain general facility upkeep and routine repairs
- Follow up on work orders
- Comply with all safety regulations and policies
- Maintain inventory of spare parts
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Proactive maintenance mindset
- Good organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Basic mathematical and computer skills (create and fill out work orders on a web-based system)
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards
- Must be available for on-call after-hours and overtime as needed
- Technical School certifications a plus
Physical Requirements
- Must wear appropriate PPE as required
- Unrestricted ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb stairs, ladders, and balance
- Unrestricted ability to use hands and arms
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or move 55 pounds
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Occasionally exposed to fumes and airborne particles
- Regularly exposed to a wide range of temperatures, moving mechanical parts, and loud noise levels
