Job Summary
We are a metal stamping facility seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician for our 2nd shift operations. Key benefits include steady work, on-the-job training, day one holiday pay, and 401K contributions.
Hours and Pay
- 2nd Shift: 1:55 PM - 10 PM, Monday - Friday, plus rotating weekends & overtime (hours may flex based on operations need)
- 3rd Shift: 9:55 PM - 6 AM, Sunday - Thursday, plus rotating weekends & overtime (hours may flex based on operations need)
- Base Pay: $25.70 - $38 per hour, plus $1.50 per hour shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shift.
Job Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and/or repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical equipment.
- Interpret blueprints and specifications for various applications.
- Install and/or repair plumbing systems.
- Ensure safe practices during repairs and check equipment using safety tagout-lockout procedures.
- Communicate with coworkers and supervisors regarding developments and needs.
- Clean and lubricate equipment according to maintenance schedules.
- Operate machine tools to fabricate, modify, and repair machinery and mechanical parts.
- Ensure environmental compliance after instructions from supervisor.
- Perform routine housekeeping tasks in work areas.
- Perform lift truck mechanic duties, including documentation of preventative maintenance and expenditure programs.
- May require off-site work assignments and occasional trips to suppliers for parts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Journeyman or equivalent (minimum 5 years experience).
- Additional training - electrical apprentice or J.V.S.
- Blueprint reading ability for electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Mechanical ability to use tools of the trade.
- Welding capability - stick/tig.
- Lift truck skills - requires successful completion of lift truck training class/examination.
- H/VAC knowledge and experience.
- Excitement to learn a new skill.
- Tendency to follow set instructions.
- Proven team player.
- Self-starter.
- Strong work record in safety, quality, and dependability.
Physical Requirements
- Work overtime as needed - 7 days a week for months at a time.
- Work at heights of 10 to 50 feet.
- Supply own hand tools.
- Dirty/oily working environments.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. of a non-repetitive nature.
- Practice safety lockout/tagout procedure when working on equipment.
- Sometimes required to work alone - other times work very close with others.
- Able to cope with stringent deadlines for equipment needed back in service.
- Ability to work while wearing a respirator.
- Good eye/hand coordination, dexterity, and adroitness.
- Stand, walk, and/or move about for periods of time in excess of one hour.
- Perform position requirements while wearing eye, ear, foot, and/or other protective devices as required.
