About the role

The Maintenance Tech position is available in Fremont, CA and is eligible for a $1,500 sign-on retention bonus. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical, and have the ability to work full-time, 40+ hours per week. The position is safety-sensitive due to the nature of the business and the heavy industrial market.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the facility’s preventative maintenance program
  • Conduct scheduled inspections of fluid levels, water flows, quench oils, filters, washer soap and similar items; notify supervisor of issues as needed
  • Maintain clean and organized environment in the Maintenance Department work area; promptly clean up after maintenance and repair work is completed within the facility
  • Auxiliary in equipment performance testing per companywide and manufacturer’s guidelines
  • Perform corrective actions required for out-of-specification conditions as directed by supervisor
  • Accurately record and document all completed maintenance, modifications, and repairs
  • Maintain shop copies of manuals and blueprints in a neat and organized manner; Provide Others With Updated Information As Required
  • Run company errands and pick up equipment, materials, and supplies as required
  • Operate company vehicles in a safe and courteous manner; Promptly report observed equipment, facility, and vehicle repair or maintenance needs to supervisor
  • Make suggestions for changes which would help the facility achieve improved efficiency, quality, and safety
  • Aid in maintaining the inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and replacement parts
  • This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage

  • This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.

  • Education – College or technical degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance preferred; High school diploma or equivalent plus 3-5 years industrial Maintenance Experience Required
  • Must possess troubleshooting skills with mechanical equipment and be analytical
  • Knowledge and hands on experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is required
  • Ability to function as an effective team member through good communication and cooperation to meet plant goals
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; must have excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to prioritize work flow
  • Actively participate in team meetings to work on problem solving and continuous improvement of the organization
  • Must have basic maintenance or industrial tools
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language

Physical & Mental Demands

  • Must be able to work in an industrial environment at elevated heights and in confined spaces
  • Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions
  • Ability to bend, pull, stoop, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and reach to perform Functions
  • May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
  • Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
  • Ability to hear in person and via phone

Pay & Benefits Information

The hourly pay range for this position is $28.00 – $32.00 per hour. Starting pay is determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with state and federal law. Benefits include employee and family medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage; company paid life and disability; HSA/FSA options; 401(k) with company match; paid time off and paid holidays; and an Employee Assistance Program. Benefits eligibility begins on day 61 of employment.
