Job Description

The technical instructor is responsible for performing all aspects of instruction for assigned program to include, but not limited to, implementing, revising, and evaluating assigned program area curriculum; utilizing all resources available to innovate and to change to meet evolving program and industry needs. The technical instructor provides up-to-date skills training and instruction to meet the learning needs of students.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high quality instruction and facilitate the learning of students.
  • Organize daily classes utilizing a variety of creative/innovative techniques.
  • Tailor teaching methods to diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Mentorship & Coaching: Understand and empathize with student experiences. Provide personalized guidance and support.
  • Create and utilize assessments to provide constructive feedback and guide learning.
  • Continually evaluate and improve teaching strategies.
  • Effective use of technology to enhance learning experiences.
  • Prepare and deliver high quality instruction and facilitate the learning of students.
  • Develop appropriate course syllabi and instructional plans, and organize daily classes utilizing a variety of creative/innovative techniques.
  • Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student records, maintain instructional environment with emphasis on safety, equipment security where applicable, and ensure opportunities for student/participant evaluation.
  • Perform student advisement such that students are provided with timely, accurate, and comprehensive information.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Student Success to ensure students receive current information on tutoring and other programs designed to increase retention.
  • Participate in related tours and recruitment events. Assist in department/program planning for recruitment.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to be of service and exhibits pleasant and courteous behavior toward customers (students, parents, employers, and media), organizational coworkers, and other general public contacts.
  • Maintain flexibility, including availability for evening, weekend, or summer assignment, as appropriate, able to work effectively in a team environment, and be committed to the mission, vision and values of the college.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of verifiable professional experience may be accepted in lieu of other requirements as approved.
  • Verifiable work experience with Industrial equipment.
  • Strong Electrical/Programming skills.
  • Working knowledge of Electrical Motor Control Systems, Electrical Motor Control Schematics, Maintenance of Industrial equipment and Mechanical Power Transmission systems.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, Certifications And/or Licensure

  • Hands-on Plant Maintenance experience.
  • Working knowledge of basic fluid power (hydraulic and pneumatic) systems.
  • Working knowledge of basic PLC operation and programming.
  • Working knowledge of programming electrical speed control systems (AC/DC Drives).
  • Working knowledge of basic machining and welding.
  • Related teaching, training or mentoring experience.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred.

Pay

Salary Range - $68,400 - $78,661. The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
