Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise maintenance mechanics and millwright crews
- Plan, assign, and oversee daily maintenance work activities
- Coordinate with plant operators, supervisors, and production staff
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures on industrial equipment
- Perform hands-on maintenance, alignment, installation, and repairs
- Execute welding and fabrication as required (stick preferred; MIG helpful)
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and layout drawings
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
- Support preventative maintenance scheduling and execution
- Maintain documentation of repairs and completed work
- Monitor crew productivity and quality of workmanship
- Train and mentor junior mechanics and helpers
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Millwright and Maintenance Mechanic
- Demonstrated leadership or foreman-level experience
- Strong industrial welding experience
- Ability to communicate effectively with plant hands, operators, and supervisors
- Must own personal maintenance/mechanical tools
- Experience working in industrial environments (sawmill, manufacturing, processing, or similar)
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and lockout/tagout
