About the role
This position works alongside journeymen-level Electrical/Instrumentation maintenance technicians in routine maintenance work and performs many duties independently.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, configure, maintain: PLC systems, single loop controls for various field systems
- Install, calibrate, troubleshoot various manufactures of analog and SMART instruments and analytical equipment
- Shop and field repair of final control elements such as pneumatic valves, electric valves, solenoid operated valves, calibration of pneumatic and SMART valve positioners
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, routine and regulatory calibration of field instruments for boilers and environmental systems
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams & electrical schematics, read and redline loop sheets, P&IDs
- Understand and follow NFPA70E regulations involving Arc Flash and Shock hazards
- Calibration and maintaining control instrumentation
- Troubleshoot, install, repair AC and DC drive systems as well as stand-alone process drives of various manufacturers
- Troubleshoot, install, and maintain various electrical components such as mechanical limit, proximity, photoelectric, speed and reflective switches
- Use RS Logix 5, 500, 5000 to troubleshoot PLC's
- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on 480v thru 13.8kv power distribution switchgear
Requirements
- At least three (3) years of work experience in INSTRUMENTATION AND ELECTRICAL systems
- Associates degree and/or certification(s) in Industrial Maintenance or other related disciplines within instrumentation/electrical
- At least five (5) years of work experience in INSTRUMENTATION AND ELECTRICAL systems
- Relevant work experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Work in industrial conditions (may be warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, heavy machinery, elevated working surfaces, and confined spaces (with proper safety training and safety protection)
- Undergo technical online testing, interview, and a hands-on assessment of skills
- Available to work shift work as assigned
Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Minimum high school graduate, GED, or equivalent work experience
- Eligible for employment in the US
Skills
- Associates degree and/or certification(s) in Industrial Maintenance or other related disciplines within instrumentation/electrical
- Five (5) years of work experience in INSTRUMENTATION AND ELECTRICAL systems
- Relevant work experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
