About the role

Industrial Electricians at Carolina Poly are responsible for the maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and modification of new and existing industrial converting equipment. This role involves documenting, recommending, and executing maintenance procedures. The Electrician will be part of a manufacturing maintenance team and will perform tasks such as electrical wiring, electrical power-up, troubleshooting, and verification of machine settings and functions. They may also complete mechanical testing and preventative maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, install, troubleshoot, and modify industrial converting equipment.
  • Document and recommend maintenance procedures.
  • Follow electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment.
  • Install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and components of industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Follow processes and be a good student of Carolina Poly processes, equipment, and procedures.

Requirements

  • AC 3 phase motors and motor controls.
  • AC/DC single phase motors and controllers including servo drive systems.
  • PLC and relay logic controls in various manufacturing equipment.
  • Equipment communications protocols.
  • Electrical power distribution systems.
  • Pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Electrical power distribution systems.
  • Follow electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A strong desire to be hands on with their work and to follow processes through.
  • Problem solving skills including troubleshooting of electrical problems and mechanical functions.
  • The aptitude and desire necessary to be a good student of Carolina Poly processes, equipment, and procedures.
