About the role

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of plant operational equipment.

Schedule

Monday – Friday day shift, 7:00am – 3:00pm (no lunch). Overtime, call-out availability, weekends, holidays, and an on-call rotation are required.

Pay

$32.09 per hour

Responsibilities

• Regular use of hand tools, power tools, measurement devices including calipers, welders, pipe fitting equipment, cutting torch, etc.
• Lifting and rigging using cables and slings
• Troubleshoot and repair pumps (centrifugal, rotary, and positive displacement)
• Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment; plan and take corrective action; make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality
• Working knowledge of laser alignment, ultrasonic, and lubrication
• Replace gearboxes, drive couplings, chain drives, and belt drives
• Timely completion of tasks and work orders with appropriate documentation according to standard operating procedures, applicable standards, guidelines, and policies
• Commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site's food safety management system, and comply with customer and regulatory requirements
• Operate mobile equipment such as forklift, aerial lift, JLG, scissor lift, and other equipment
• Must be willing to train for advancement
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 1-3 years or more of major industrial maintenance experience
• Ability to work primarily in a non-climate-controlled environment
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and a high level of dedication to safety

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Prior experience in a plant or similar environment
• Certifications for welding, electrical training, or industrial maintenance training
