Industrial Hygienist, Senior - Hybrid
About the role
This role is responsible for supervising projects related to environmental exposures to multiple chemical and physical hazards to ensure safe, timely, and compliant execution. The position also oversees the maintenance and communication of exposure records, analyzes data, and provides recommendations for corrective actions.
Responsibilities
- Serve as AdvocateHealth representative to outside regulatory and compliance agencies as needed.
- Perform onsite investigations for indoor air quality complaints across the enterprise.
- Monitor and assess workplace hazards, recommend appropriate control measures, and track action items.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for leadership regarding trends, risks, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Design and direct the work of the team(s).
- Select, coach, and develop team(s).
- Manage performance by recognizing achievement, providing feedback, and administering progressive discipline when necessary.
- Develop and/or recommend operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.
- Ensure compliance with the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and ensure that employee actions comply with applicable policies, regulations, and laws.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial hygiene or occupational health and safety. Advanced knowledge of OSHA regulations, exposure limits for various chemicals, industrial hygiene monitoring equipment and sampling methodology, and MS Office are required. Advanced knowledge of NFPA 70E and experience working with regulatory agencies is preferred. Familiarity with auditing energized electrical work is preferred. Experience working in a healthcare setting and communicating with OSHA and Joint Commission is preferred.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
Skills & Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Advanced knowledge of exposure limits for various chemicals.
- Experience working with industrial hygiene monitoring equipment and sampling methodology.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office.
