POSITION SUMMARY
Matthews Environmental Solutions is a globally recognized leader in cremation and incineration equipment. We are currently seeking an Industrial Field Service Specialist to join our growing team. This role involves installing, repairing, rebuilding, and commissioning cremation and incineration equipment across the U.S. and internationally. Ideal candidates should have strong refractory, mechanical, electrical, and PLC experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, repair, and commission cremation/incineration systems.
- Perform refractory work (hearth, roof, wall, cold-hearth rebuilds).
- Troubleshoot burners, airflow, hydraulics, motors, and mechanical systems.
- Diagnose electrical issues (single-phase/three-phase, 120VAC, 12–10VDC).
- Perform PLC upgrades, control panel changes, and system commissioning.
- Rebuild single-chamber, multi-chamber, and large-animal units.
- Service autoloaders, lift tables, and processors.
- Lead jobsite activities and train operators/technicians.
- Complete service reports and manage expenses.
- Provide remote/phone support.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- Associates degree and/or certification/apprenticeship in technical, mechanical, electrical technology or engineering, computer science or related field.
- 4+ years of previous experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3–10+ years crematory, incinerator, or industrial combustion experience.
- Strong refractory skills.
- Ability to read mechanical & electrical drawings.
- Experience with PLC-based systems and advanced troubleshooting.
- Welding, rigging, and crane experience preferred.
- Able to travel up to 5 days/week.
- Valid driver’s license; able to pass background/drug screening.
