About the role
Engineers at Bridgestone drive innovation in the world's largest tire and rubber company. As an Industrial Engineering Co-op, you will gain hands-on experience working on meaningful projects, network with engineers, and make a lasting impact while developing skills to elevate your future career. This role focuses on optimizing manufacturing systems, including personnel workflow, materials logistics, production processes, and equipment layouts.
Responsibilities
- Work on problems of limited scope and contribute to projects or processes with detailed instructions from higher-level professionals.
- Establish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
- Conduct cost, inventory, production control, and human factors studies to develop and implement facility modifications and operational revisions.
- Assist manufacturing plant and facilities engineers with facility planning and design.
- Apply interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with teammates and achieve common goals.
- Work in a hands-on environment with cross-functional teams.
- Utilize project management skills to develop, manage, and control scope, schedule, and cost.
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering or another applicable major, actively enrolled in an accredited university.
- Sophomore-senior level standing with a GPA of at least 3.0.
- Completed coursework in Computer Aided Design (CAD)/AutoCAD.
- Available to work 40 hours weekly in a 6-month minimum co-op assignment.
