About the role

Siemens is a global technology powerhouse that has stood for engineering excellence, innovation, quality, reliability, and internationality. Siemens Smart Infrastructure, Electrification & Automation (EA) business unit is headquartered in Wendell, NC. The EA Business Unit has a diverse portfolio of products, including, but not limited to, low-voltage MCC, CMR fuse saver, MV switchgear, MV circuit breakers, and metering, power monitoring, power quality, and protective relay maintenance and systems of a standard nature.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead the site Industrial Engineering strategy for assembly operations: line layout/design, workstation optimization, labor standards/time studies, and Yamazumi / line balancing to increase throughput and stability.
  • Develop a continuous improvement roadmap for each value stream with a focus on Safety, Quality, On-Time Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity; deploy Lean tools (5S/6S, waste elimination, VSM, root cause/corrective actions, Kanban, visual management).
  • Establish and sustain a performance management system (daily/weekly operating rhythm, KPI governance, escalation/problem solving) that converts operational data into action and prevents “pilot-only” digital initiatives from stalling before scale.
  • Own the Industry 4.0 / digital factory enablement roadmap: identify and implement high-impact opportunities for paperless execution, improved quality loops, and connected shop-floor insights aligned to smart factory principles (connected, adaptive operations).
  • Lead new product start-up / transfer readiness from an IE/OpEx perspective: process readiness, standardized work and training, capacity planning, and launch stabilization to achieve high process and quality standards.
  • Drive productivity and cost optimization programs through prioritized CI projects and justified capital investments; develop technology roadmaps for automation/digitalization programs and ensure benefits are realized in SQDCP metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years experience in Manufacturing Engineering / Industrial Engineering / Operations Excellence, including leadership responsibility in a production environment.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing Lean methods and tools such as 5S/6S, waste (Muda) elimination, root cause/corrective actions, Yamazumi, Kanban, and Value Stream Mapping / Process Flow.
  • Proven ability to lead change, create accountability, and influence cross-functional partners to deliver measurable operational outcomes.
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and communication skills with the ability to align teams to a common vision and operating rhythm.
