About the role
The Industrial Engineer of Supply Chain & Procurement - Buyer will play a crucial role in sourcing and managing the supply chain for Aquatech's manufacturing of water and wastewater treatment systems. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, this position requires a strong background in procurement, particularly within the technical commodities industry of valves, pumps, vessels, and other water treatment equipment.
Responsibilities
- Promptly purchase all commodities and technical equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, controls, vessels, and piping) for the manufacturer of water and wastewater treatment systems
- Copies data and compiles records and reports
- Operates computer terminal to input and retrieve data
- Purchases supplies
- Data entry of all purchase orders
- Aids other departments when required
- Reviews requisitions
- Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
- Prepares purchase orders or bid requests
- Receives and contacts vendors to find out the status of an order
- Contact vendors with discrepancies in quantity and quality
- I interfaced with all departments and resolved problems and issues with needed purchase items
- Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority
- Travels when needed to meet project requirements
Requirements
- Ability to get quotations from vendors for projects & review them
- Ability to negotiate supplier prices and purchase commodities for projects expediting to meet the due date
- Ability to approve supplier invoices, manage appropriate purchasing budget, check for missing material in the shop, and follow up on partial deliveries
- Ability to maintain budget reports
- Ability to handle nonconformance with the Quality department
- Knowledge of industrial water and wastewater treatment systems is preferred
- Prior purchasing experience with international vendors is desired
- Working knowledge of SAP

Qualifications / Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Two (2) years of experience is preferred
- One (1) year of experience with SAP is preferred
