About the role
Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) is currently seeking an Industrial Engineer to join their team in Berkeley, MO. This role works for the Test Operations & Engineering (TO&E) team, which leads various BT&E activities and collaborates with BDS programs and production operations.
Responsibilities
- Apply basic industrial engineering concepts, approaches, and techniques to product, process, and services to meet program requirements
- Support the development of plant and equipment layouts, capacity plans, accident prevention measures, sequencing of operations and workflows
- Participate in the evaluation of new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations
- Assist with designing, maintaining, and optimizing the production system by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel
- Conduct basic work-flow design and analysis
- Develop simple models, databases, and spreadsheets to analyze data and provide summary analysis and metrics for consultation to leaders
- Support research, design, develop, improve, and implementation of processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, for large scale systems integration and asset utilization
- Support implementation plans and programs for facility/factory modifications and revisions to operating methods
- Document work instructions and standardize work practices
- Support the preparation of operations plans, including work statement analysis, budgeting and forecasts, capacity and constraint analysis, and production change, to ensure technical goals and objectives are met
- Support execution planning by using project management, planning, and scheduling and shop load practices
- Provide production, supply chain logistics, performance visibility, and recovery planning support
- Follow compliance requirements with established industry safety, design standards, and ergonomic guidelines
- Lead metrics, data analysis, and improvement plans, related to our team’s productivity, efficiency, and first-time quality, including Lean+ events, 5S improvement plans, and/or special initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness
Requirements
- This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 5 or more years of experience in Industrial Engineering or similar role (i.e. Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, etc.)
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 5 or more years of experience in Industrial Engineering or similar role (i.e. Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, etc.)
- Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 7 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 9 or more years of experience in Industrial Engineering or similar role (i.e. Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, etc.)
- Experience in test laboratory operations
- Experience with project management
