About the role
Come Drive Innovation with Us. We are currently looking for an Industrial Engineer 2 ECL to join our team in Canton, MS.
Responsibilities
- Provides engineering support for the development, production, and quality of new and current manufactured vehicles within assigned area at NNA manufacturing plants.
- Communicates with suppliers, manufacturing plants, and other Nissan affiliates to propose and implement countermeasures for quality, manufacturing, and field concerns within assigned area.
- Aids manufacturing plants and suppliers in identifying cost-saving methods while improving quality.
- Create and maintain internal documents for labor and processes related to Internal Logistics.
- Identify, lead, and implement continuous improvement projects.
- Interact with manufacturing, material handling, engineering, and packaging to develop Material Flow requirements for current production and New Model launches.
- Design workstation layouts that offer most efficient work-cycles for operators in manufacturing, sequencing, and kitting areas.
- Lead, mentor, and develop junior engineers.
- Evaluate dock utilization, calculate cubic storage space requirements, determine inventory requirements for JIT system, and design efficient material handling routes.
- Evaluate current labor needs and calculate future labor needs within supply chain functions.
- Recommend Material Flow equipment: forklifts, tuggers, AGV, and automated solutions.
- Update project schedules, internal KPI data, and global KPI data.
- Use experience and knowledge to support production area with problem identification, root cause analysis, and countermeasure development.
- Manage supplier quality by reviewing manufacturing processes, addressing recurring issues, implementing permanent countermeasures, and evaluating supplier performance.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing process documentation, determine optimal equipment, conduct audits, and lead cost studies to support efficient production.
- Analyze quality and warranty data to identify root causes, drive corrective actions, and ensure successful implementation of solutions.
- Support new model launches and engineering trials by evaluating design changes, coordinating with engineering teams, and improving tooling, materials, and processes.
- Troubleshoot production, tooling, and quality concerns; recommend and implement improvements, monitor process controls, and drive continuous quality and operational enhancements.
Requirements
Required:
- Education: A four-year degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology or Engineering Technology.
- Experience: Two to three years of related experience at a professional level.
- Job Knowledge and Skill: Must meet requirements for MR1 level or possess equivalent experience. Basic knowledge of assigned areas; process equipment and flow knowledge. Excellent verbal, written communication, and problem-solving skills. Working knowledge of quality control assessment such as statistical process control. Ability to understand part, sub-assembly or system dimensional layouts. Ability to perform work onsite at Canton, MS.
