Responsibilities
- Analyzing problems and developing solutions for manufacturing-related issues
- Working cross-functionally with teams to improve manufacturing processes and reduce costs
- Leading the development of new or modified manufacturing processes and methods
- Assisting in updating and maintaining process routing systems
- Directing and instructing production and assembly personnel on process changes, tooling modifications, and other information
- Reviewing product design releases and recommending design changes
- Preparing manufacturing cost estimates
- Researching, evaluating, and recommending replacements for additional equipment
- Providing manufacturing technical assistance, guidance, and services
- Developing and maintaining shop work standards
- Conducting work balance studies and capability studies
- Participating in design for manufacturing efforts
- Conducting process FMEAs for machining and assembly operations
- Aiding in tooling design
- Researching opportunities for material, machine, and tooling improvements
- Completing corrective action requests as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial, manufacturing, or related field
- Experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or electronics environment
- Knowledge of manufacturing functions, including methods, processing, tooling, work standards, plant layout, and cost controls and reduction
- Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies
- Ability to read and comprehend detailed drawings, sketches, notes, and blueprints
- Knowledge of metric dimensions
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Self-motivation and flexibility to adapt to changing conditions and job assignments

- Ability to work well with others
- Flexibility to work variable shifts (Monday–Friday, 8-5)

- Utilizing Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies
