Responsibilities

• Analyzing problems and developing solutions for manufacturing-related issues
• Working cross-functionally with teams to improve manufacturing processes and reduce costs
• Leading the development of new or modified manufacturing processes and methods
• Assisting in updating and maintaining process routing systems
• Directing and instructing production and assembly personnel on process changes, tooling modifications, and other information
• Reviewing product design releases and recommending design changes
• Preparing manufacturing cost estimates
• Researching, evaluating, and recommending replacements for additional equipment
• Providing manufacturing technical assistance, guidance, and services
• Developing and maintaining shop work standards
• Conducting work balance studies and capability studies
• Participating in design for manufacturing efforts
• Conducting process FMEAs for machining and assembly operations
• Aiding in tooling design
• Researching opportunities for material, machine, and tooling improvements
• Completing corrective action requests as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial, manufacturing, or related field
• Experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or electronics environment
• Knowledge of manufacturing functions, including methods, processing, tooling, work standards, plant layout, and cost controls and reduction
• Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies
• Ability to read and comprehend detailed drawings, sketches, notes, and blueprints
• Knowledge of metric dimensions
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written
• Self-motivation and flexibility to adapt to changing conditions and job assignments

• Ability to work well with others
• Flexibility to work variable shifts (Monday–Friday, 8-5)

Skills

• Utilizing Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies
• Developing automation and/or robotic operations
