About the role
The Industrial Engineer will support continuous improvement initiatives, facility optimization, and operational excellence within our distribution and logistics environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and optimize the utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve operational efficiency.
- Lead process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Analyze workflows, operational processes, and organizational structures to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and maintain labor standards through work measurement studies, time studies, and labor utilization analysis.
- Recommend and implement improvements to increase productivity, reduce waste, improve quality, and enhance service levels.
- Evaluate facility layouts, workstation configurations, material flow, and equipment placement to maximize operational effectiveness.
- Partner with operations leadership, engineering teams, and management to implement process improvements and operational strategies.
- Support cost analysis, financial planning, workforce planning, and productivity initiatives.
- Develop and maintain quality control procedures to improve process performance and minimize operational costs.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations based on data analysis and project findings.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of professional Industrial Engineering experience (excluding internships and co-op assignments).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and employee well-being.
Qualifications
- Experience in distribution, warehousing, logistics, or manufacturing operations.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with PKMS, ProTrack, and/or AutoMod software.
- Experience with labor management systems, facility layout design, and process simulation tools.
