Industrial Engineer

About the role

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aviation industry to hire an Industrial Engineer for an exciting opportunity in Berkeley, MO. The ideal candidate will apply industrial engineering expertise to enhance productivity, reduce costs, improve quality, and support advanced aerospace manufacturing programs.

Responsibilities

• Apply industrial engineering concepts, methods, and techniques to products, processes, and services to meet program goals
• Develop plant layouts, equipment plans, workflows, and capacity strategies for efficient operations
• Design and optimize production systems by integrating facilities, equipment, supply base, personnel, and design requirements
• Conduct workflow studies and operational analysis to improve throughput and performance
• Research and implement new technologies, tools, and methods to modernize production processes
• Create models, databases, spreadsheets, and metrics dashboards to support leadership decision-making
• Improve schedule performance, lower costs, and increase quality through process innovation
• Lead facility or factory modifications and revisions to operating methods
• Create product assembly instructions and standardize best practices across operations
• Prepare operations plans, budgeting forecasts, capacity analysis, and production change strategies
• Support execution planning through project management, scheduling, and shop load balancing
• Provide production, supply chain logistics, visibility, and recovery planning support
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, design standards, and ergonomic guidelines

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field
• 5+ years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, 3+ years with a master’s degree, or equivalent experience with a PhD
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with production systems, process optimization, and data-driven decision-making
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial engineering experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5+ years of Lean Manufacturing experience
• 5+ years partnering across multiple functional teams in a lead or integrator role
• Passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence
• Experience improving manufacturing stability, quality, and productivity in complex environments

Benefits

• Competitive pay starting at: $53 to $63 per hour
• Full-time consultant assignment for 12 months
• Consistent schedule: Monday–Friday | First Shift | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pay Details

• $53.00 to $63.00 per hour
