Industrial Engineer
About the Role
Our Industrial Engineer’s primary focus is optimization of processes that match the tooling, equipment, and facility requirements and provide efficient, cost-effective production lines that utilize operators and/or robotics in a mold and assembly operation. They are also responsible for contributing to the successful launch of MAHLE products and development and implementation of Continuous Improvement projects and problem-solving processes.
As a MPS Implementer, you will assist with the implementation of Lean Manufacturing goals and strategies for improving the operations and processes within the organization. You will facilitate training and workshops on operational excellence principles, evaluate all continuous improvement activities, and implement plans to optimize performance and processes. The role employs Lean methodologies and tools to accomplish business objectives while gaining exposure to complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work, you will work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Responsibilities
- Optimize processes for tooling, equipment, and facility requirements to create efficient, cost-effective production lines.
- Contribute to the successful launch of MAHLE products.
- Develop and implement Continuous Improvement projects and problem-solving processes.
- Assist with the implementation of Lean Manufacturing goals and strategies.
- Facilitate training and workshops on operational excellence principles.
- Evaluate continuous improvement activities and implement plans to optimize performance and processes.
- Apply Lean methodologies and tools to accomplish business objectives.
- Read and understand engineering drawings.
- Work within ISO14001 and IATF standards as applicable to the position.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in operational excellence, process improvement, or similar roles.
- Experience in plastic molding & assembly preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or similar certification preferred.
- Dynamic communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrable technical presentation skills.
- Superb computer literacy, including MS Office, CAD, and SAP.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Tableau).
