Job Responsibilities
- Analyze current-state material movement from receiving through shipping to identify bottlenecks and eliminate waste using lean tools such as value-stream mapping, spaghetti diagrams, time studies, and line balancing.
- Design, select, and implement efficient material handling methods and equipment, including AGVs/AMRs, tugger routes, forklifts, flow racks, point-of-use storage, and ergonomic dunnage/packaging solutions.
- Support plant layout changes, new product launches, and workstation redesigns by defining optimal material presentation, replenishment strategies, and supermarket structures.
- Lead or participate in kaizen events focused on improving internal logistics, material flow, ergonomics, and delivery accuracy.
- Drive standard work development and visual management improvements.
- Work cross-functionally with Production, Logistics, Supply Chain, Quality, and Maintenance teams to resolve material flow issues, implement system changes, and ensure smooth operational execution.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure all material movement processes comply with safety, ergonomic, and regulatory standards.
- Support improvement initiatives that reduce handling risks and improve workplace safety.
