About the role
The Industrial Engineer supports the Manufacturing Department by providing production engineering support to eliminate waste and uncover inefficiencies in production processes.
Responsibilities
- Generate specifications, work instructions, and equipment instructions.
- Design, develop, and maintain manufacturing routes to maximize effectiveness, efficiency, and space.
- Identify and facilitate production with tooling, jigs, fixtures, test equipment, capital plant, and equipment to meet defined requirements.
- Develop procedures and comply with these for the control, issuing, storing, and archiving of drawings, procedures, and specifications in line with ISO 9000 standards.
- Provide technical consultation, leadership, and liaison with outside vendors for products and materials used to manufacture valued-added cable assemblies.
- Review all technical specifications and drawings for new product introduction.
- Provide technical support and training for VAB assembly personnel.
- Ensure maximum efficiencies through cost and quality improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with the Quality Engineer and others in establishing root causes and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) in engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred) from a four-year college or university.
- 3-5 years engineering work experience in a related industry (electronics/cable assembly).
- Knowledge of production processes, costs, quality control, raw materials, and methods for maximizing the efficient manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Knowledge of the ways various systems interact and how changes in operations, the environment, and other conditions will affect outcomes.

Pay
$70,000 - $85,000 (commensurate with experience)
