About the role

As an Industrial Engineer, you will work directly with production, engineering, and manufacturing teams to implement lean manufacturing systems. You will analyze throughput data to improve department performance, prepare standardized work for future products, and drive continuous improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate problem-solving activities on the plant floor with multi-department resources.
• Support in-plant tryouts, process changes, and implementation plans to resolve ergonomic issues.
• Assist in establishing operational methods and work standards using various measurement techniques.
• Analyze throughput data to identify and eliminate plant bottlenecks.
• Analyze existing operations and propose cost-justified improvements.
• Optimize use of floor space, materials, personnel, and equipment.
• Assist in planning new facilities, operations, or relocations.
• Provide information for various management systems.
• Monitor adherence to recommended safety procedures and good housekeeping.
• Recommend changes to workstations, labor, and layouts to reduce waste and cost per car.
• Work alongside production, manufacturing engineering, and engineering teams to establish lean workstation setups, including standardized work.
• Establish execution plans to complete jobs and projects.
• Coordinate input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs and perceptions.
• Stay updated on current product developments and trends in areas of expertise.
• Actively identify new areas for learning and take advantage of learning opportunities.
• Demonstrate knowledge of MGO and part routings.
• Respond to supplier and engineering inquiries.
• Complete special projects and scenarios as needed.
• Support Floor Readiness for SORP.

Requirements

• Degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing or related environment.
• 1+ years of experience as an Industrial Engineer in an automotive or high-volume manufacturing environment or equivalent.
• Highly developed oral and written communication skills.
• High level of interpersonal skills.
• Project management skills.
• High level of analytical ability.
• Familiarity with Standardized Work.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of layout software such as CAD.
• Knowledge of plant simulation.
• Knowledge of and experience in Standard Time Data Systems (STDS).
• Knowledge of and experience in Assembly Processing Systems (APS).
• Knowledge and experience in Throughput Analysis.
• Knowledge of work measurement and work standards.
• Knowledge of basic manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Knowledge of computer software (Office suite and engineering software).
• Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related areas.

Pay

The expected base compensation for this role is $80,200.00 - $125,900.00. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
