Industrial Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Work independently to manage deadlines and prioritize your workload in a manner that enables you to achieve results
• Provide support with layout, design, improvement, and implementation that enables our sites to achieve peak performance
• Champion Continuous Improvement initiatives and projects for the customer
• Identify and implement cost reduction, quality, safety, and ergonomic improvements
• Participate in management circles
• Deliver results

Requirements

• Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent, required; 0-4 years of experience in distribution or logistics, required
• Preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree or 4 years equivalent work experience, required; Some knowledge of Industrial Engineering, preferred
• Basic Concepts: Basic concept of a warehouse operation (inbound, put away, pick, pack, ship); Capable of using AutoCAD and making layout changes; Familiar with basic concept of continuous improvement and can identify low hanging fruit opportunities within an operation
• Skills: Performs GEMBA walks with operations team; Can perform a time study and convert it to meaningful data; Uses flowcharting software and can outline process steps; Learning to communicate / interact with outside organizations (vendors, customers, and government); Utilizes conventional or routine approaches to problem-solving but shows the ability to think beyond the obvious solutions; Develops relationships with vendors, suppliers, operators, and support functions for problem solving; Capable of identifying a problem; Strengthens communication skills across various levels within the organization; Able to gain understanding of processes to identify areas of opportunity
