Industrial Engineer

National salary range: $70,000 - $115,000. California range: $70,304 - $115,000; Washington range: $80,169 - $115,000.

Drive operational performance and own key projects for our customers in a challenging and exciting role. You’ll work independently across multiple operations of different sizes, products, and processes, managing deadlines and prioritizing your workload to achieve results. Your work will directly impact company profitability, and your voice will be heard in management circles.

Responsibilities

• Work independently to manage deadlines and prioritize workload to achieve results
• Provide support with layout, design, improvement, and implementation to enable sites to achieve peak performance
• Champion Continuous Improvement initiatives and projects for the customer
• Identify and implement cost reduction, quality, safety, and ergonomic improvements
• Participate in management circles and deliver impactful results
• Perform GEMBA walks with the operations team
• Conduct time studies and convert data into meaningful insights
• Use flowcharting software to outline process steps
• Develop relationships with vendors, suppliers, operators, and support functions for problem-solving
• Strengthen communication skills across various levels within the organization
• Gain understanding of processes to identify areas of opportunity

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience (required)
• 0-4 years of experience in distribution or logistics (required)
• Experience with distribution, logistics, or project management (preferred)
• Basic knowledge of Industrial Engineering (preferred)
• Understanding of warehouse operations (inbound, put away, pick, pack, ship)
• Capable of using AutoCAD to make layout changes
• Familiar with continuous improvement concepts and identifying low-hanging fruit opportunities
• Ability to perform time studies and analyze data
• Learning to communicate and interact with outside organizations (vendors, customers, government)
• Utilizes conventional or routine approaches to problem-solving but can think beyond obvious solutions
• Capable of identifying problems and proposing solutions
