Responsibilities
- Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives for finished products.
- Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient use of staff, equipment, and facilities.
- Recommend methods to improve utilization of personnel, materials, and utilities in a highly automated manufacturing environment.
- Plan and establish sequences of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products, promoting efficient workflow and throughput.
- Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staffing requirements, and production standards.
- Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost.
- Estimate production costs and evaluate the impact of product design changes for management review, decision-making, and control.
- Draft and design layouts of equipment, materials, and workspaces using drafting tools and computer software to achieve maximum efficiency.
- Monitor production systems to identify bottlenecks through data analysis, focusing resources on areas that limit throughput rather than directly implementing fixes.
- Collaborate with controls and engineering teams to collect, structure, and feed throughput and performance data into AI models for system-wide analysis.
- Contribute to the overall layout and optimization of the shop floor, ensuring ergonomic, efficient, and safe workstations and material flow.
- Participate in industrial engineering activities such as process improvement, time studies, and line balancing to enhance productivity and safety.
- Ensure that safety considerations and automotive manufacturing requirements are incorporated into process and layout designs.
