About the role
The Quality Engineer supports all technical aspects of an order to ensure accuracy from supply to customer delivery. They manage planning and training for technical activities, such as commission charge and capacity tests, and ensure inventory quality. They are responsible for quality standards and ensuring adherence to manufacturing processes. The Quality Engineer manages the customer and factory claim process, reviews maintenance records, implements corrective actions, and provides monthly reports on claims data.
Responsibilities
- Supports the technical execution of customer orders by providing final battery configurations at least two weeks before customer delivery.
- Manages the customer and factory claim process, reviewing maintenance records, recommending corrective actions, and making decisions on warranty resolutions.
- Approves technical reports, reviewing readings such as outgoing open circuit voltage readings, commission charge OCV reports, and capacity test reports.
- Manages production and quality control efforts by developing and maintaining quality procedures, training quality control personnel, and supporting the testing of customer product returns.
- Maintains production test tools and supports field service manager projects when required.
- Trains and supports warehouse personnel to ensure safe and competent technical execution of customer orders.
- Manages incoming inspection of specific factory products and interacts with the factory quality team to resolve product issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in technical field or equivalent experience.
- Good working knowledge of electrical systems (DC systems and batteries preferred).
- Experience with Computer Aided Design Software for 2D applications.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of an ERP system and other standard productivity tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, and general software tools).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communications skills internally and externally.
- Leverage of Lean Six-Sigma training.
- Experience with PFMEA/Control Plans, AS9100 Quality System, Internal Auditing, and AS9100 FAIs.
Qualifications
