About the role
The Wastewater Collections Division at DPWES is seeking an Industrial Electrician II to join a dynamic team supporting the Wastewater Pumping Stations. This position involves maintaining and repairing various electrical equipment, including pumps, controllers, and HVAC systems.
Responsibilities
- Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on three-phase industrial electrical equipment up to 4160 volts.
- Restocks and repairs electrical equipment, utilizing computers and software for work order management.
- Attends electrical training to comply with regulatory requirements and national electrical codes.
- Works independently and collaboratively in permit confined spaces and hazardous areas.
- Attends 24-hour call backs and may be required to work emergency overtime.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus four years of industrial electrician experience.
- A valid driver’s license and Journeyman Electrician's license from the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Ability to distinguish different colors of electrical conductors and work in adverse weather conditions.
- Physical fitness to endure variable and extreme weather conditions and perform manual labor.

Pay
The starting salary for this position is $X.XX per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. The position is eligible for a $2,500 signing bonus upon hire.
Schedule
This position requires flexibility and availability for 24-hour call back and potential emergency overtime. It may also involve occasional travel to multiple Fairfax County sites.
