Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and modify electrical devices and systems associated with feeder / branch circuits and over-current protection.
  • Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs electrical and electronic equipment such as motors, switches, timers, transformers, power rectifiers and photoelectric sensors.
  • Operates equipment and tools to complete work such as cutting, threading, bending conduit, removing and replacing conduit, fittings, and junction boxes.
  • Installs and connects distribution and utilization equipment components; ensures safety codes and National Electric Codes (NEC) are met prior to installation.
  • Draws, reads and interprets electrical schematics and one-line diagrams.
  • Conducts weekly / monthly calibrations as required by regulatory agencies.
  • Serves as an active member of the Plant Emergency Response Team (PERT); ensures electrical shutdown in case of an emergency.
  • Operates forklift or similar machinery as needed.
  • Maintains an understanding of and adherence to related State and Federal rules for waste management.
  • Utilizes the appropriately required personal protective equipment (PPE), as this position works around hazardous materials.
  • Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization.

Requirements

  • High-school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Certified Electrical Journeyman -OR- an Associate degree in an electrical related field (required).
  • 3+ years of experience as an electrician (required).
  • Previous experience working with PLCs (preferred).
