About the Role
This position is crucial for the integrity and reliability of electrical systems, encompassing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair in a leading-edge frozen food snack facility in Jerome, Idaho. A hands-on approach is essential for meeting specifications and regulatory compliance, thereby optimizing system performance and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with facilities/operations teams to offer technical support for electrical systems within the operational and maintenance phases.
- Perform corrective and preventive maintenance and troubleshooting in accordance with Master Specifications, Standard Installation Details (SID), and state and local electrical codes.
- Act as a key liaison with System Owners/Engineers, contractors, and technicians on operational issues affecting system quality and performance.
- Identify and assist in resolving electrical-related construction and maintenance issues.
- Conduct comprehensive inspections and complete equipment sign-off processes, ensuring all systems meet rigorous standards.
- Prepare and coordinate with client system owners, ensuring all preventive and corrective maintenance actions are properly executed.
- Address technical queries and respond to electrical systems maintenance and operations queries, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Participate and contribute to the plant's continuous improvement activities and predictive maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned to support this role.
Requirements
- 3 years or more of work experience as an electrical and/or instrumentation technician.
- Experienced in electrical manufacturing maintenance.
- Familiar with common electrical measuring instruments and Good Practices.
- Knowledge of state and national electrical codes.
- Experience with running and start-up of industrial equipment.
- Familiar with basic electrical safety procedures, including Good Practices, PPEs, SOPs, and LOTO.
Skills
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Strong troubleshooting skills; ability to identify root causes of problems using instruments and knowledge of electrical components (relays, overloads, motors, VFDs, etc.). Experience with common electrical periodical and preventive maintenance techniques and planning. Familiar with preparation and implementation of SOPs and SSOPs.
- Power Distribution: Familiarity with power distribution and installation. Knowledge of common motor control techniques (VFD, D/Y, etc.) and components, including installation and troubleshooting. Ability to configure a VFD.
- Automation and Instrumentation: Basic PLC programming and modification. Familiar with common electrical instruments, selection, usage, and troubleshooting. Experience with communication protocols (e.g., HART) is an advantage. Ability to run root-cause analysis on PLCs and/or HMIs.
- Instrumentation/Calibration: Knowledge of common measuring instruments and their properties. Ability to calibrate and verify calibration of instruments. Experience with simple regulators.
- Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems: Knowledge of common pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including diagnosis and troubleshooting.
- Work Attitude: Organized in daily routine and workplace. Maintains personal and common tools/instruments in good working condition. Anticipates needs (e.g., spare parts, tools, consumables) to avoid delays and equipment downtime.
- Languages: Fluent or advanced level English; Spanish is an advantage but not required.
- Software: Proficient in MS Office. Experience with AB and/or Siemens programs; other design and/or control software is an advantage.
- Soft Skills: Team player, good communicator, willing to train colleagues (e.g., production operators, mechanics, other maintenance team members). Service-oriented with a high sense of urgency. Skilled troubleshooter.
