About the role
Hunt Electric, Inc. is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician to support our Industrial and Automation division. This position is primarily field-based and focused on troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving industrial electrical systems across a variety of heavy industrial environments.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain three-phase power distribution systems (480V through 120V).
- Diagnose and repair motor control systems including contactors, overloads, soft starters, and VFDs.
- Perform hands-on maintenance of pumps, conveyors, crushers, and other industrial equipment.
- Install and modify electrical systems in industrial environments.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, control schematics, and one-line diagrams.
- Perform terminations, splicing, conduit installation, and panel wiring.
- Conduct load calculations, voltage drop verification, and verify proper overcurrent protection.
- Use test equipment including multimeters, amp probes, megohm meters, and power quality meters.
- Support basic PLC and control systems troubleshooting (I/O checks, field device verification).
- Work safely in industrial facilities including mines, asphalt plants, sand and gravel operations, manufacturing plants, and similar environments.
- Maintain compliance with NEC and site-specific safety standards.

Requirements
- Strong industrial electrical maintenance experience.
- Experience troubleshooting motors, three-phase systems, and control circuits.
- Working knowledge of motor starters, VFDs, and basic relay logic.
- Ability to troubleshoot using schematics and prints independently.
- Familiarity with 480V power systems.
- Basic PLC troubleshooting experience (no advanced programming required).
- Exposure to Ethernet/IP or industrial networking.
- Experience working in MSHA-regulated environments.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Apprentice or Journeyman Electrician license preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and clean MVR.
- Ability to pass background check.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
This is a full-time position with a typical working schedule of Monday - Thursday 7:00am – 4:30pm and Fridays 7:00am – 2:00pm.
