Hunt Electric, Inc. of Salt Lake City, UT is searching for a licensed Industrial Electrical Foreman to join our Industrial Division team.

About the role

We are looking for a full-time licensed Industrial Electrical Foreman with a current and active Journeyman Electrician License issued by the State of Utah. A valid reciprocal state journeyman license will be considered as proof of experience, but a Utah journeyman license must be obtained within 30 days of employment. Experience in electrical construction and running field crews is required.

Responsibilities

  • Diplomatically manage crews and provide appropriate training, positive and constructive feedback.
  • Plan and layout the project, including material take-off quantities and tool needs based on the project schedule.
  • Troubleshoot and install control circuits and compute electrical calculations.
  • Read, understand, and interpret electrical plans, complex circuit schematics, and blueprints.
  • Establish a site-specific safety plan and evaluate project risks to personnel and equipment to mitigate them.
  • Understand, review, and implement the installation per the contract drawings and specifications.
  • Evaluate the contracted scope of work with the Project Manager (PM) to determine change requests and schedule impacts.
  • Plan the project’s material, equipment, and labor needs for timely arrival to and from the site.
  • Monitor daily progress to short-term and long-term schedules to meet commitments, providing daily written documentation of activities and obstacles.
  • Conduct and participate in project meetings as needed and provide necessary trade coordination.
  • Coordinate and communicate with the PM and purchasing manager regarding detailed material requisitions and delivery schedules.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the installation of cable tray systems, tray cable installation, heat trace, rigid conduit bending and threading, motor control centers, and instrumentation.
  • Apply knowledge of MHSA & OSHA Standards.
  • Communicate technical information effectively, listen to instructions, and ask questions as necessary.
  • Perform physical tasks including climbing ladders and working in small spaces by crouching, stooping, or kneeling.
  • Establish and implement prefabrication project-specific tasks.
  • Manage more than one project at a time.
  • Contribute to improving standards and processes.
  • Actively foster a positive team environment.
  • Demonstrate dependability with regular attendance and compliance to scheduled work hours.
  • Show an aptitude for learning, a goal-oriented mindset for continual growth, and a “Can-Do” positive attitude.
  • Perform other duties or work at other locations as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • Current Utah Journeyman Electrician License (or a valid reciprocal state license, with a Utah license obtained within 30 days of employment).
  • Five or more years of installation experience with the latest electrical code, means, and methods.
  • Ability to apply the latest technological techniques to maximize employee safety, quality, and production.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, such as indoor and outdoor lighting systems and timing.
  • Superior internal and external communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.).
  • Team player who acknowledges contributions by others.
  • Basic computer skills, including Outlook, Bluebeam, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience in food and beverage, manufacturing, automation and controls, or wastewater treatment.
  • Proven success supervising projects with crews ranging from 2 to 50 personnel, meeting safety, quality, and production goals.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a typical working schedule of Monday - Thursday, 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM, and Friday, 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
