About the role
As an Industrial Designer, you’ll work closely with our industrial design and engineering teams on Memo, our home robot. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to real product development—not just concept work. You’ll play a key role throughout the design process—from early brainstorming and concept development to design refinement and getting the product mass-production ready. We’re looking for someone who is excited about robot design, passionate about physical products, and curious about what the future of living with robots could look like.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive industrial design projects from early concept through production
- Work closely with designers and engineers to develop thoughtful, beautiful, and manufacturable design solutions
- Explore and communicate ideas through sketching, CAD, rendering, and physical prototypes
- Participate in design reviews, clearly communicate design intent, and iterate quickly based on feedback
- Build and evaluate physical prototypes using 3D printing and other prototyping methods
- Develop and refine CMF (Color, Material, Finish) strategies
- Collaborate with vendors and manufacturing partners to review samples, resolve design details, and bring designs into production
- Proactively identify design opportunities and help shape the overall product experience and design language of Memo
Requirements
- Strong industrial design fundamentals, including sketching, form development, proportion, detailing, and 3D modeling
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, Onshape, Rhino or similar CAD tools
- Strong hands-on prototyping skills and experience with 3D printing
- Experience with KeyShot or other visualization and rendering tools
- Strong aesthetic judgment and exceptional attention to detail
- Understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and designing for production
- Ability to communicate design intent clearly and collaborate closely with engineering and cross-functional teams
- A proactive, self-motivated approach and comfort taking ownership in a fast-moving environment
- Comfortable moving between big-picture concepts and small production details
- Excited about robotics, consumer products, and the future of technology in the home
