Contract Industrial Designer

About the role

Choi Design Group is expanding and seeks a highly skilled Industrial Designer to join our dynamic team. Based in near downtown Chicago, we have over 30 years of experience delivering impactful work across tech, medical, industrial, and consumer products.

Responsibilities

• Lead ideation and concept development with clarity, creativity, and speed
• Create compelling, high-level sketches and visual narratives that communicate ideas effectively
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to bring concepts to life
• Translate complex client needs into insight-driven design solutions
• Deliver high-quality work with precision, accountability, and momentum

Requirements

• We are seeking a designer who combines strong creative vision with professional rigor
• 2-5 years of professional industrial design experience
• Exceptional form development, aesthetics, and design sensibility
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, KeyShot, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Strong sketching and visualization skills showing you can communicate ideas quickly and clearly
• Experience with AI-driven design tools and workflows
• Proven ability to collaborate, take direction, and elevate the work through iteration
• A high degree of time management, reliability, and professionalism
